There is no cure anywhere in the world for HIV, but there is excellent treatment that allows someone to live a long and healthy life.
In collaboration with the brothers of the Wahati chapter of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc. we worked together to bring Stigmatized: A conversation about HIV and AIDS, where we addressed some of the misconceptions about HIV/AIDS and the impact of stigma. During the event, we had a couple ASU organizations come and table such as Devils in the Bedroom and the Sexual and Relationship Violence Department, and provided free resources and information about their work on our campus.
This year our conversation was facilitated by HEAL International's Program Coordinator Sarah Mure and Megan Allen, Tanzania In-Country Director. Megan and Sarah created a space of learning and fostered a stigma-free conversation on the topic.
The fight for an HIV-free generation continues and together we are committed to bringing awareness and resources to the campus and communities that we serve.
